too much room for a guppy?

It should be ok. My guppies breed in a 45 gallon tank, and there are only 2 of them.

If this tank is only going to be a breeding tank, then it might be a bit big if you will only have one pair. however, if you have 3+ females, it would work. It'd be a bit desolate at the beginning, but you'd have lots of fry later on.

What're you going to do with the fry, by the way?

Well my friend is wanting them, so i will give some of them to him and another of my friends is wanting some also he is a total newbie so i might get him a male and 3 females and watch his face the next time i see him. Also My P.S.E. teacher is interested in fish, so I could give him one or two, if i wanted to bump up my grades

P.S.E.? What does that mean?

If you're only going to give these fish to a few people, it's not worth it to use such a big tank.

However, if you could find a lfs to take them or if you decided to professionally breed them, then it'd be worth it.

You could use that tank as a community tank and raise the fry in a smaller tank. When they'd get big enough you could move the fry to the 25.

It's up to you, of course, but you could keep more than 4 fish in that tank. :D

Sorry to muddy up the water, but I do it just the opposite. My breeding stock go into a smaller tank, and any fry get put into a larger growout tank. Just seems to make more sense to me. Might depend on how many fry you have.... :dunno:

 It's still not worth it to suck up in that way, though.

What fishdudein said makes sense. However, if you were to create a tank where you wanted the general populace to be all fry (or those fry that grew up), then what you want would make sense. Otherwise I'd go for a smaller tank or find a handful of lfs that would be interested in the fry.

I have breed Guppies just for the fun of it. What I can tell you is that here in Paraguay almost all the small rivers and marsh lands have Guppies in them. From what I can see, they love really shallow water. Water from 2 to 6 inches deep. Hope you can come to some conclusion with this info.
