I am still not understanding how i am meant to know if my plants are getting enough, or to much, light, ferts or co2?

My grass is slow at growing, but it always is going to be slow. but i obviouly want it to grow as fast as it can.

I have a 48" Glo Over Tank Canopie which has two 54W tubes in it. I dose CO2 enough to turn the drop checker lime green by the end of the day, and i also dose using EI method. I guess that means my ferts and CO2 is at the top end.... but is my lighting in line with that too? Should i look to get another lighting unit?

Currently i have algae too. I am going to get a couple powerheads to try and get the flow up in the low areas, but how else can i reduce the algae.... i imagine not by getting more lighting?! My CO2 is already on 2 hours before and after my lights which are only on for 6 hours a day!

MY tank is 360L and 24 inches deep

How many PPM of each nutrient are you dosing each day with EI? Your lighting and CO2 sounds fine too me, the algae is probably flow related. How long is your photo period?

photo period?

I was told when i first got my lights that i MAY want to increase to 3x54W. What is the ratio i should aim for? I am also not sure about the efficiency of the lights as they share a reflector.... its a hagen glo unit so has a reflecor dome which the two tubes sit in. What happens if i have way to much light? Just algae central?

I figure flow is the problem with algae just now, so i'm getting a couple pumps.

PPM....well i am dosing as per James planted tank. With the dosing he suggests i think i get Nitrate 20–30 ppm
Phosphate 1-3 ppm
Potassium 20-30ppm
CO2 30ppm

Well your lighting is fine, there will be sufficient CO2 due to the pressurised injection, you could always try running only one tube in an attempt to combat the algae, the plants wont grow as fast but it should help.
