Hi experts.

I've been assessing my lighting and i'm not really happy with it. I have a180 litre tank with the built in ballast supplying 2 x 30w T8's as well as an additional 2 x 55w compact T5's. The T5s are great but because they are compact, they do not span the length of the tank so i have less light at the ends of the tank.

What I was hoping to do was to get another pair of smaller compact T5's to make the light tube span the length of the tank giving a fuller lighting area.

Having calculated this, it appears i'd have the following lights:
2 x 55w cT5
2 x 36w cT5
2 x 30w T8

Works out to be a little over 5 watts per gallon on a 47g tank. I am injecting pressurised CO2 and dosing EI.

But would this be too much? I suppose I could remove the T8's which would give me 3.8wpg but if i can make use of the lighting I may as well do it!
