so at first I wanted to upgrade one of my 10gs to like 30g and have a big school of harlequin rasboras with my guppies. then when I went to my friends house and saw her set up I wanted to do something similar with rocky land for my pacific tree frogs(again this would be at least 30g) and water for a school of rasboras and guppies. (also i have an otto who goes where ever the rasboras go) but then my mom said that a tank that big wouldnt fit and would be expensive blah blah blah. and I share a room and the place is already overrun with tanks: 2 10gs, 20g hermit crabs, about 20g tank of frogs and a fry tank that I sadly cant use because my guppies never had babies!
so lately, I was thinking, since i am getting like 3 or 4 more rasboras soon, and the only reason i had to move my betta out was because the rasboras got nippy, i was just thinking....... I am going to get a bunch of REAL plants when I get the rasboras. then I can divide my tanks up so it would look like this:

10 gallon # 1:
3 guppies
1 betta
lots of plants

10 gallon # 2:
6-8 rasboras
1 betta
1 or 2 ottos.
not as many plants, because i want to give them room to school

i did have my betta with guppies for a while and he was fine.

oops I forgot to finnish. would this work? this keeps the amount and size of tanks I have the same, so my mom would be ok. are there any ajustments to be made?

what do you suggest? thats another question I forgot to ask. i like the underwater bamboo.that would probably go with the rasboras. what kinds are easy to care for?

i also like amazon swords.

and umbrella plants

I only have one aquarium light but it is broken. the tanks are near a big window, but not close enough to grow a ton of algae. hope that helps

Low light plants would be your best bet then.

Crypts, watersprite, java fern and anubias (both have to be tied onto a rock or some driftwood). Hygrophila would also be suitable.

With watersprite and hygrophila you could create a nice jungle :)
