hello, my guppy is in my net breeder right now, and she will give birth soon (hopefully :fun: ) . but my swordtail is going to have birth in a few days also. i only have (1) 10 gallon tank and (1) net breeder. i cant put my soon-to-be mother swordtail in the net breeder with my guppies new-born fry. any suggestions.
i was considering investing in a second net breeder, but that would take up a lot of space in my 10 gal.

also, once my swordtail has fry, can i keep them with my guppies fry?

Def' dont put the adult swordtail in with the guppy fry unless you wanna feed her. Your fry can be combined, yes. I've seen it before but have never done it myself since guppies are the only live bearers i keep. You dont have say even a 1 gallon bowl you put the fry in? I often put my new born fry in 1 gallon bowls and I've had no problem with keeping 20 fry in one for up to a month(then i upgrade them to a 10 g tank).

does the bowl have to be clear, because right now the only bowl thats clear that i have would be perect, except that my bett is in it, plus if you keep them in a seperate bowl, wont the water be bad?

If you are trying to save some fry but are short of space - put some plants in like Limnophila sessiliflora (thanks to the guys in the Plant forum for identification). I leave mine floating on top of the water and the fry just head straight for it when they are born...

i would do the plant thing. if you cant buy any good plants i also had this problem and i placed a tupperware container in the tank used that as a small tank as it floated with water in it.
then when they both have given birth move the fry into the net. but be aware that the guppy will give birth again in around 30 days.

you could also place loads of large stones on the bottom of the tank and the fry will hid between the stones .
