After joining this forum and doing some reading I think my tank might be overstocked :( This is what I have:

4 angels
2 rams
1 betta
1 bn
3 corys
39 small tetras

in a 4ft 180L. All fish are juveniles still.

IMO it's overstocked and there are some fish that aren't compatible. I think you're pushing over 2" per gallon once they are adults. What kind of filtration do you have and how often do you do water changes? What is the height of the tank? Angels need 18" from the substrate to the top water line.

I don't believe you should put a Betta with Angels as they can get nippy with each other since both have long fins and like to nip at other long-finned fish (but someone please correct me if I'm wrong). The Angels and Rams prefer warmer water. What kind of Cories and Tetras do you have? Most Cories do prefer a bit cooler water, but there are some that will do fine in warmer water.

I think also that the Angels will eat the small tetras

Thanks for the replies. I'll try and get the betta its own tank (maybe share with some of the tetras). And ask the lfs if they could take an angel or 2.

Unless your tetras are some of the smaller ones like neons, they will be fine with the angels. Even black neons are fine with an adult angel. I always keep my bettas in community settings and they don't give me much trouble. Your total fish load is heavy but not to the point of being a real problem unless the thirty-leven tetras are expected to go over 1 1/2 inches as adults. With proper care as they mature, you may find that all works out fairly well for you. With any group of fish that big, you will lose a few before they are fully grown so you might want to wait and see what is left when they are grown. I don't keep rams because my water is too hard but I love the way they look. I have read that they can become territorial so that may be something you will need to watch as they mature.
