Hi there

Unfortunately it's too late to do anything now but was wondering if anyone could suggest what went wrong. :/

About a month ago I added 8 Guppys to my 50G Tank which at the time had:

13 X Pristella Tetra
8 X Platys
1 X L001
3 X Gourami (3 spot, Dwarf Neon and Honey)

All was well and two of the Guppys had about 40 Fry.

About 2 weeks later I added 2 more males and 4 more females. A week after that I noticed that one of the females had a large white ?growth? (looked like mould) on her belly (came up overnight)and I moved her it to quarrantine but she died shortly afterwards.

From that point on all of my Guppys begain dying through none of them seemed to have any outward signs of being ill apart form one which looked very 'pale.'

Strange thing is, none of the Fry have died and they seem healthier than ever (getting quite big now). All of the other fish are fine too!

I'd like to see the fry stay healthy so any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Wilde

The mould on the fish what colour was it and did it look fluffy in appearance.

Hi Wilder,

Yes it did, thats exactly how I would describe it.

I also forgot to say that I added 13 Neons with the 2nd batch of Guppys and that my water parmaters seem fine Nitrate\Amonia OK, 25 degrees C and PH 7.2

Plenty of water changes in the next few days to dilute the bacteria down in the tank.
You could add a bacterial med just to be on the safe side.
Got to go now sorry, read that link as it good on columnaris.

Should be OK now. Done serveral water changes since the last Guppy died and not had any more problems.

Thanks for you help.

Thats fine then.
