Okay so I was thinking of ALL the possible things that could have caused Toggle (my black moor goldy) to sit at the bottom of the tank and not move, not even for food! So I remembered I added a little slice of orange as the LFS said they need vitamin C in their diets and a slice of orange would be okay to put in the tank. So I looked it up online and saw pictures of oranges with them and read a little bit about it and thought Toggle would love it! So I dropped a small piece of orange in and he totally ignored it. Then after like 10 minutes I checked on him and he was sitting at the bottom of the tank not moving at all. :-(

So I removed the orange and he remained in that one spot all night and all morning. So I emptied out his whole tank while he took a 20 minute salt bath and rinsed everything in warm water really good and boiled what I could. I threw almost all of his decorations away and basically started over. I added the gravel from my cycled 55 gallon to his tank. I didn't rinse the filter off or clean that really well, but I think I got it clean enough. So I waited for the temp to get just right and then floated him in a bag for awhile and slowly acclimated him for about 20-30 minutes.

He is swimming around now and being more active than he was yesterday. But I caught him going to the bathroom and about 3 cms of it was clear with kind of a slight green tint and then about 3 cms was green and then the rest was brown. :dunno: Is this parasites? What can I treat it with? Should I just stick with the daily 20 minute salt baths?

weird...you never got any help, so I'm gunna bump this again.
yea, it is kind of strange. But I researched it online and it said that if the poo is kind of clear and bubbley in a goldfish that means they are not eating well. Which I can't say he has been eating the best as I have just been feeding him tropical fish flakes soaked in water so they sink along with sinking wafers and an occassional pea or two. :dunno: I will buy some goldfish food soon. :D

when i saw you title for the post i thought you was talking about me :|

sorry, its early... *yawn*

Wow, I am kinda stumped.
I've been googling and reading my diseases guide for 30 minutes now.

My best guess is that it's one of two things.
1) Since you put the orange in, and shortly after that he started this, could it be that he devoured a bunch of it and he is now constipated? Stringy clear poo is a sign of that.
2) or he might have internal parasites

I'm sure someone else will come along with a suggestion, but if I were you I'd just hold off on feeding him and keep an eye on his poo.

If the clear poo continues you might wanna treat for internal parasites....
Otherwise, he's probably constipated.

Well he didn't even eat the orange. He didn't want anything to do with it.

Hmm....
has he been eating like a pig otherwise lately?
I mean before yesterday when you put the orange in?
Yesterday was the first day he got his appetite back and started swimming around, it was also the first day I did a large water change after the orange. :dunno: I fed him a pea yesterday just to get his poo "flowing" and it came out clear and bubbley, then greenish, then brown. It was a tri-color poo.

I read online clear bubbley poo can mean bad diet, but I am not 100% sure as it was only one website about goldies.

My guppy has clear "stuff" coming out of her too but to me it looks like undeveloped fry.... LFS told me its poo.... So I dont know.... :dunno:

From what i can remember clear poo is trapped air. White poo is the one you dont want. try and keep him eating peas for a few days and see if it clears him out. If the poo is zig zagged then its a sign of egg absorption.

He went poo again today and the very tip of it was the clear stuff again and the rest of it was a nice healthy brown color. I feel like a perv watching and describing his poo on here. :p
