I found last week that my female BN was looking super fat and had started lying on her back in a strangely knackered way and thought she might have just gorged on too much courgette but I put the males cave back in the tank to check and 2 days later she has shrunk and is happy again bless her....so she was evidently just really full of eggs...
They seem happy to breed in the community tank as this is only 4 weeks since their last lot, I don't faff around with them too much, temperatures normally 78 and they get courgettes to munch on but there's not normally a suitable cave in the tank as I didn't want them making babies all the time.
I was going to take the cave out again once these fry are roaming and taking their chances in the community but now I'm rethinking as if shes going to be getting eggbound every month (and she looked distinctly unimpressed) would she'd be better off having somewhere to drop the eggs, I wouldn't want to upset the dad by repeatedly taking the eggs away either.
Any views, I don't want to separate them or move them as the tank balance seems to be working well so should I leave the cave in there or not?
