Tips On Cockatoos? (apistogramma Cacatuoides)

has anyone got any tips on inducing apistogramma cacatuoides into breeding?

i work at an aquatics so livefood isnt an issue

Just got back onto forums so late reply.
I bred mine twice in a two foot tank. 2 nch layer of sphagnum moss peat with 1 inch standard gravel. Heavily planted with amazon swords and pygmy chains. Two caves in opposite corners made of blue slate and aquarium silicone. My tap water is around 6.8 ph. 2 pairs of cockatoos and no other fish - a few cherry shrimps though.

First breeding on bottom of filter (it was too big for tank so I was removing it) but they were eaten after I returned the filter. 2nd 1 month later (could have been same 2 fish) in one of caves. Female attacked the other three fish two of which later died even after I removed them. Fry now about 1.5 to 2 cms and doing well. Probably have 60 - 70 fry in 4 tanks. The male later died after wedging himself between glass and decor which was a shame as he was a fine looking fish. His sons will hopefully be just as good.

Before breeding the fish were fed Tetra min standard flake and frozen bloodworm for about 3 - 4 weeks before the first spawning.

40% cool water change, feed live food 2-3 a week, plenty of caves for them, a lot of plants, ph of 6.0-7.5, temp around 24c-26c, water hardness of 6-10 and time.
