Apistogramma cacatuoides feeding question

A pair of Apistogramma cacatuoides- Orange morph arrived yesterday. Lovely fish. Anyone know where they feed in the water column. Surface or substrate or in between? Thanks.

They'll feed lower water column and off substrate. That's usually where my apistos eat from
