Tips On Catching Small Fast Fish

Hi all, im thinking of giving my dad my community tank but im just wondering if anyone has any tips on catching the fast little buggers?
I have various species of tetra which im guessing are near impossible to catch with the 6 inch net I have.
So could I use 2 nets? Or a blocked off cave or any other tips?

First, remove the decor.

Second remove a good deal of the water, at least 50%.

Third, use one net to herd the fish towards the waiting - "catch net", which doesn't move. Mission accomplished.

What I have done in the past is I have put in a little food to draw them towards the top and then net them that way.
