my partner has been after breeding angels for quite some time now he finally found a breeding pair today in our lfs they are bigger than the palm of ur hand huge amazing colours so were happy now they are in a aquaone 620T with nothing but gravel and slate.just wanting some tips for breeding, when we released them into the tank we had 8 small angels in there wich are now in another tank, the male was protective of the female straight away any of the others that went near her he was fighing off so we mooved them asap.just wanting some tips reli our tepm is 28c should i put anything in with them ornament wise or is the slate ok
how often do they lay eggs>?
what are the stages reli?

any advice would be gr8 thanks

This belongs in the New World Cichlid's area. Also, angel's like temps around 30-31 C . They should lay every 2 week's.

They will live and breed quite happily at 28C. Make sure they get fed a varied diet with lots of frozen foods, and feed them several times a day. Do big water changes every few days or even each day using dechlorinated water with a similar PH and temperature to the tank. Have some flat pieces of rock in the tank and a few large swordplants, either plastic or real.
If they are well fed and the water is good they should start laying fairly soon. They will probably eat the first batch of eggs but give them a chance and they should start to look after the eggs and fry.

hello thanks for that just posted it new world section as im a little concerned bout the male.cheers
