Tiny White Fluffy Things? What Are They?

Hi ive just noticed that where my java fern is attached to the bogwood in amongst the roots are lots of really tiny white dots that look like little bits of fluff could this be mold? if not what else could it be? sorry cant get a piture because they are really small and wont show up on my camera.

Hey fellow 'Taffy'.

I had an outbreak of this stuff on my bogwood during my fishless cycle. I put it down to some kind of bacterial mould. I took the wood out, cleaned it up with an old toothbrush (or the wifes' when we argue) and put it back in. Never seen it since.

thanks terry I think i'll give that a go I didnt really want to be taking it out because its quite a big piece and covered in baby cherry shrimp but if theres no other suggestions this might be my only option I think
