Ok I have my 2 angelfish with lots of fast and greedy fish, namely cherry barbs and silver tip tetras. I'm worried that my angelfish aren't getting any food.

The angelfish are too scared to go for flakes, bloodworm normally gets eaten by the rest, as the angels are timid, even if it's 'under it's nose' a cherry barb will quickly get it first. I bought some Tetra Prima today thinking it would help as it sinks, but it doesn't sink fast enough, the angels can't get any. I tried putting tetra prima in an airline tube and lightly blowing it out, but the angels are too timid. They seem like they don't want to eat!

These angelfish I bought last week, one's bigger than the other, one's about has big as 50 pence, without the fins obviously, the other one is a bit bigger. They both look healthy but their really really shy.

What can I do?

haha, im in the same exact situation. i got two small angels yesterday. i couldnt tell if they were getting any flakes so i tried bloodworms and peas and i didnt thik they got any of that either. but, when i went to feed the ram some of his chichlid pellets they did eat a few of them. hopefully once they eat some they will actually grow bigger than thier black skirt tankmates.

What temperature are you keeping the tank at?

heres a trick i use for feeding my slower fish i will take a normal cup get some water out of the tank put a couple frozen blood worm cubes in the cup let them dethaw and then dump it across the top of the tank and they will surly get food

That doesn't really work because my other fish are soooooooooo fast. I managed to do something this morning, put flakes in the front of the hood, sinking granules in the back it worked a little. I'm gonna get a bloodworm sieve soon so that may work if I put a frozen cube in it.

I have no trouble with my angels. I have two that sound smaller than yours and three larger ones. All 5 are bold and will feed out of my hand.

they will take time to come around to feeding. If you have just got them it will take them a couple of days to adjust to the speed of the other fish and everything. My fish scavenge from the bottom as well so they might be getting some food although you don't realise it

Goodluck

Angels like it warmer, the only time I drop it that low is to rest breeding pairs. 80F should be the minimum, 82F is better. Lower temps slows their metabolism, making them slow eaters, and prone to constipation as well.

I keep corys with angels at those temps, they get along just fine.

I breed green aeneus corys on the side, just to help keep tanks clean. I sell them once they are big & fat, often they have spawned at least once. I do the same with pandas, though I don't breed them, a friend does & I get them cheap. They do fine once acclimated to temps in the low to mid 80's, as well as eating the same diet of bbs for angel fry, and frozen & live food that gets fed to older angels. I rarely lose them at those temps, and I have dozens at any given time.

Oh goodie. I just realised but temperature is infact, just above 80F. Looks like I'm ok then. They're probably just a bit shocked from being in all angel tanks to one with lots of little fast fishes.
