Hi All,

I have a 10 gallon tank that use to house 5 dwarf rasboras, 1 male betta, 2 cherry shrimp, 3 algae shrimp and a snail.  I moved my rasboras to a larger tank and just left the betta in the tank with the shrimp.  When I went to clean my tank a couple of weeks ago I noticed 3 itty-bitty baby rasbora babies.  They must have arrived right before I moved the adults.  The betta never went after them and they are starting to grow but are still very tiny.

Today the betta died, from what I assume is old age (he was about 3 years old).  He had been slowing down for a while.

Question:  Should I just let the three little rasboras grow up and have the tank to themselves and the shrimp?  Should I put any other fish in the tank with them (I assume the answer to be no)?  When they are grown, should I put more dwarf rasboras in with them?  Could I put something else in with them?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

It depends on what you want to do. I never heard of dwarf rasboras til this morning so I would let them grow up and up the numbers to 6-7.

Let them grow up in the ten gal and once they are big enough, move them over to join the others.

The you can do something new. I quite fancy dwarf puffers myself!

Dwarf cory's won't harm the fry, though there should be sand substrate for them.

Dwarfs should be in larger groups than 5 so I'd grow out the babies and add them to the school :)

Do you fancy a gourami for the ten gallon with a small school of smaller tetra?

I would definately grow them in the ten then move them to the other tank. The bigger the school the better. Or better still, move the five back to the ten and get more babies!
