Time to introduce myself

Hi ...
Firstly thanks for all your help with my questions in the beginners section.

I'm new to tropical fish keeping, my past experience of fish was a goldfish which I won at the fairground as a child.....unfortunately that didnt last too long !!

As I write this I've just set up my tank ( 11 imp gal ) and allowing it to settle whilst I try to locate some ammonia for a fishless cycle.

I find this forum superb , i'ts a lot eaiser to find an answer to your problem here than from any book, and Im most impressed with the time it take to get an answer... often only a matter of minutes.....(thanks )

Thanks for the great welcome guys .. and gals ....since my first post I've got my first two southern platy for my tank ( starting small and building up ).. Hope they last longer than my goldfish did
..and hey who needs to buy books when theres a site as good as this.. !!!
