Yes I'll have to accept whatever happens , the bala sharks, definately the Plec and possibly the clown loaches will be graduating to another home.

What tank mates would you put in a 350 litre as yes I want to go smaller with a golden gouramis and 5 green barbs.
More barbs I think but not too many.
Can you have discus or angels with them?

I must admit unlike cfc I love my neons so maybe cardinal tetra's ??

I don't want to overstock but I do not want a tank of no fish to be seen either.

Oh and is there a plec that leaves plants alone.???

I would like a few more plants but then need a (small) algae eater.

Advice please.Thanks

Angels would be best suited.Small neons or cardinals may be eaten but should be ok.Bristlenost pleco and much more. For a small algae eater an otto?

Thanks do I keep ottos alone ? Do they like gravel or once my loaches are gone is there an aquarium soil to grow plants in. Boy I am naive but then I have found out a lot by owning up to not knowing.

There's a pinned list of smaller plecos on that board, hehe. None of the plecs I've ever had actually ate plants, and I don't believe many ever really do.

Otos generally like being in small groups I believe, and I've never really seen one sitting on the substrate so I'd suspect they don't care so long as they get their algae fill.
As for substrate, there's tons of aquarium soils, but finer gravels work alright if you're not heavily planting with delicate plants. For planting though, an easy one seems to be Eco-complete - I use it right now and my plants really seem to love it.

Angels would be better suited then discus, but my angels and gouramis always fought, so I'm not sure that's a great one. Tetras and barbs can sometimes get nippy depending on the type, and again, no angel will like that too much.

It would be pretty expencive... A 350 litre tank needs a lot of Substrate! IMO, An under-gravel/sand substrate would be better - for example, Tetra CompleteSubstrate...

Are you sure you want to keep barbs... They can be slightly aggressive. I would personally keep a small group of Angles ( around 6... ) and then stock with a large shoal of Neons ( Green Barbs would also look out of place in a setup which is full of South American fish... )

You could keep a few ( 3 or 4 ) BN Plecs or go for something slightly rarer and more expencive...

Otto's prefer planted setups and also prefer to be in small groups ( 5 ). I would either have Plecs' or Ottos' ( not both... They both eat the same diet and there would be quite a lot of competition for food... )

Cheers...
