I put in my usual ghost shrimp today for the barbs and the puffers to eat and I just noticed one ofmy Barbs seems to have just inhaled one of the shrimp and now has half a shrimp head sticking out of his mouth. He isn't really doing anything that looks like he's stressed and he won't let any of the other fish try to eat it out of his mouth...Do I need to do something? -_-

watch him closly for the next day then if he shows signs of distress take a net and scoop him out. Poor some stresscoat on him or saomething with fish slime in it (this is to prevent stress related diseases) and take a tweesers and GENTALLY crush the shimp. DONT pull it out decause that could damage the internal organs. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I would probably tried to pull it out. I'm guessing to do this I'll have to catch him and hold him with my hands right? Just wanna make sure before I stress the hell out of this fish

No dont hold it. Take a piece of glass and set him on that. Scrub the glass first and put some scresscoat on it THEN set him down and put more stresscoat on him. Stresscoat is also a calmer.

Thanks for your quick replies Danno...I wuz a little scared. Today there's only a little bit of antenna sticking out of his mouth. My friend said his barbs do that all the time, so that made me feel better knowing it's not unusual.
