I go to bed...5 Tiger Barbs....1 Dojo.....

I wake up...5 Tiger Barbs...No Dojo

Is it a dojo loach you are missing?
If so check under the substrate even in the filter stuff like that - they like to hide.

The Barbs would only eat the loach if its dead which is probably the likely event if its not hiding.

Even with the tigers picking at the dojo...im still pretty sure you would have some sort of carcass/body left....

I would definitely check under all of your decorations, if you have any. I had a dojo loach that would dig up under a huge sand dollar I had in the tank and hide there. He would only come out when I wasn't there or when I picked up the sand dollar. Also, check and see if he jumped out. Dojo loaches are great jumpers and can clear the little space around the filter or heater if they're determined...or particularly unlucky.

Check IN your decorations, some ornaments have a cavity under it, and they love to curl themselves up and 'hibernate'. I cannot image tiger barbs attacking and killing a dojo.
Yes, and check around the furniture and floor around the aquarium, I've never had mine jump out, but some people might have.

If I had five pesky, fiesty, nippy, but all so cute tiger barbs chasing me all over a tank, I'd probably hide and only come out when they were sleeping.

That's why my tiger barbs are in a species tank by themselves.

Undergravel filter? Check under the plate.
Internal filter? Check inside.
Holes in tank lid? Check the floor around the tank and under the stand.

I have done all of the above and still no Dojo.

They like to bury themselves under the substrate and can wonder quite a distance away from the tank if they manage to get out... I'd also double check all ornaments and the filter in case it's stuck somewhere. If you still can't find it, wait until it's dark and turn off the aquarium lights - then wait a while and you might just catch it come out whilst the barbs are prepairing for sleep :p...

Ok. The saga has come to a close. :/

I found the poor fellow 12 FEET!! away from the tank under another piece of furniture. Needless to say, he was not alive and I have properly laid him to rest.

Thanks for all the posts of help!

I am really sorry. It's never fun to loose a fish. I was hoping it was just hiding.
