Tiger Barbs eat a Dojo?

That's what I meant when I said they could wander quite a distance away from the tank... They are escape artists and they tend to get carried away with the travelling above water. Sorry for your loss but don't let it put you off - get another sometime (they are entertaining fish) - just make sure all escape routes are permanently blocked off.

So sorry. Might I suggest Duct tape over the openings of your tank hood? put the duct tape on the inside of the hood so no one sticks ;) I've never had a problem with that.
 
They say that dojos can sometimes live up to three days out of the water. They exude a thick mucousy membrame of slime and go into a deep hibernation to survive (if I recall rightly, this has something to do with water level changes in their natural habitat)... so if this ever happens to anyone, try putting the little guy in a bowl of tank water and see what happens.
 
More than likely he's just hiding, they are very good at that :lol:
