So can these fish go together? I currently have a school of 14 barbs, normal and albino, 7 of each. I wanted to add a live bearer to my tank. As I understand mollies and guppies are out. I could be fine with platties, but would prefer swordtails. Anyone else mix these two together? Tank is 55g and the other fish are 7 otocinclus vittatus, 2 albino cories, 4 bronze cories, 1 flying fox and 1 Bolivian ram that I am hoping to get a mate for. I would add 3-6 swordtails to the mix with 1 or two males and rest females.

Swordtails are probably robust enough to resist the nipping of the tiger barbs.

I don't really "do" tanks over around 100-120litres, so I will leave commenting upon the capacity issues to others.

Don't see any reason why not. Although I can't imagine many fry making it through with a good sized shoal of tigers in the tank.

Thanks guys. Dr Rob I will definitely not expect large numbers to survive initially but I plan on getting a breeder tank. Hopefully if I pay attention I can move the preggo females so they can have the fry in relative safety.
