Hi,

I recently just started keeping tropical fish. In my tank I have a red finned shark, golden tiger barb, tiger barb and a green moss barb. The golden tiger barb is always chasing the tiger barb around the tank. They are constantly fighting and chasing each other.
If anyone has any opinions are anythign to say about this please reply.

Thankyou,
Beggs

You only have two tiger barbs?
You should really have more, 5 or 6 atleast from what i've heard, it spreads the aggresivenes between them and they calm down.

Tiger barbs need to be kept in groups of at least six or more. Until you do that, they'll continue to harrass and chase each other around til exhaustion. Having six of them "dissipates" the aggression among the group instead of one or two individuals.

definitely as above - i moved some of mine recently and was left with only 5 regular tiger barbs in one tank; the aggression between 2 or 3 of these fish increased dramatically with almost constant chasing/harassing between them. I moved them over to the other tank which has 2 green and 3 albino tigers in it, and no probs since.
