Tiger Barb With A Weird Mark

Hey,

I have a tiger barb that has a weird red mark on either side of it. Can some one please help me identify this?

In the tank there are:
9 Tiger Barbs
1 Algae Eater
12 Black Spotted Tetra's
5 Neon Tetra's
3 Red fin sharks

i don't really know much about fish so i can not do this by myself

I'm not very good at identifying diseases since all I've had to deal with are fungus infections but it sort of looks like septicemia. Hopefully someone can positively identify it for you. Good luck.

Have you tested your water? It looks like it's more like an ammonia sore, do a larger water change now of around 30%
Repeat this 2-3 time for the next week.

also treat the water with aquasafe as it cotains an agent to help coat fish if their is a problem with the slime.

Algae eaters can also be a problem, if they don't get enough food the till soon lurn to eat the slim off other fish which could be letting in the infection that way.

Looks like some sort of infection, try some Melafix or Pimafix, which everyone works for bacterial infections.
