tiger barb swimming up the vacuum

last night i was doing a water change, using the vacuum/siphon that i have. my tiger barbs and rosy barbs are fearless, and they chase the vacuum around. i have to be real careful so i don't suck one up into the siphon.

so one tiger barb managed to swim right under it, and up he started to go. he was real mellow too, not even fighting it. i think he liked it! haha. i was looking down at the bucket at the time and when i looked up, i'm like no no no no no no, and i cupped my finger over the other end of the tube in time to stop the suction.

why are tiger barbs the craziest little fish. they really do fear nothing. it was funny looking back. i just wish they'd leave me alone when i was vacuuming the gravel!!

Crazy fish eh. I have 5 giant danios (out of 7 used for target fish for my GT and JD) and they like to nibble at my hands while i'm vacuuming. Tickles a little bit but nobody every goes up the siphon tube.

I find if they do go up they tend not to make the same mistake again - unless its an ammano shrimp

I can't put my hand in there without getting "attacked" by all six fish either. haha. good thing they aren't pirahnas!

I have a feeling that tiger barb would take the ride up the tube again in a heartbeat. Like i said, he seemed to enjoy it. crazy fish.
