I understand Tiger Barbs are more peaceful in larger numbers, just wondering what number members found best as a minimum. Ex. 6, 10, 12?

Also would a school of tiger Barbs and green tiger barbs be considered 1 school? So for example, would 5 tigers and 5 greens be equivalent to having 10 of the same one or doesn't work like that?

Thanks

10 is a good number for tiger barbs. More is better.

Green, gold and normal tiger barbs are the same fish and will all mix together. So yes you can get 5 normal and 5 green and that will be 10.

Agree. A group of 10-12 Tiger Barbs (all varieties are the same species) in a 30 gallon tank is the minimum for both fish and tank size. This means just the TB, no other upper level fish as there is not sufficient space given the behaviour/temperament of the TB. Substrate fish can work, depending.
