hi
have a tb who for the last 4 months or so has had a split dorsal fin, despite treating it several times it never healed but as it never showed any signs of infection i didnt worry too much & didnt see how the fin could heal when the barb was continually extending it full stretch whilst having his scraps. he also through this time never appeared ill at all.
anyway we've been on holiday for 2 weeks & came back to find the tb looking ill with obvious infection in his split fin ( no water changes for 2 weeks ) also hiding by himself & not interested in food. i treated with melafix & pimafix & the fin is looking much much better, tb has perked up back with the tb gang & eating but although hes managing to eat he seems to have a problem eating & it looks like mouth fungus.
does anyone have a suggestion for the best treatment for mouth fungus available in the uk, i have esha 2000 & waterlifes myaxin or i could do another pimafix/melafix treatment. obviously i would have to catch the barb & put him in the hospital tank for anything other than melafix/pimafix treatment, which knowing how fast barbs can move when the net is on the go might cause more stress for the fish (& me)
any suggestions appreciated. the tb has improved so much i'd really love it if i can sort him out completely.
