Hi,

I'm new to sickness in fish and this little fella doesn't seem right. I added the TB's yesterday and there's something up with one of them. He's only been showing this behaviour for an hour or so.

I've gone for the template so that I don't miss anything off....

Tank size: 180ltr Juwel Vision
pH: 6.8
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: ~40 (just done 25% water change)
tank temp: 24C

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):
There are no external signs of problems but this fish (think male) is going around to the current swimming in circles and if gets buffered below the top, he swims straight back to the top to kiss the surface but does not gulp air. For a few seconds he swims and then goes lifeless.

Volume and Frequency of water changes:
Just done a 25% water change and is the first one I've done as my first fish went in last week after a full fishless cycle for 6 weeks.

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:
None

Tank inhabitants:
9 zebra danios; 1 Leopard Danio which were added last Saturday 6th October.
5 Tiger Barbs & 5 Green Tiger Barbs added yesterday.

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):
5 Tiger Barbs & 5 Green Tiger Barbs added yesterday.

Exposure to chemicals:
None

Digital photo (include if possible):
Sorry can't get on as the lighting in the aquarium means it wont show him

Any ideas?

Is this one you recently added ?

Are all the others OK ?

Could be stress of new tank, how do you climatise them ?

He's had it, stuck to the filter intake and can't swim away from it now.

I've taken him out of the tank now and when I put him in the net, there was no life.

Just one of those things I guess.

Although, would appreciate it if someone could let me know what happened with him.

Could of been ph shock so need to see how long you climatised him for. What was the ph of your tank to the fish store.Half an hour, ok.Swimming in cirlcles and gulping air seen it before usually means a fish hasnt climatised properly.Just make sure none of the new barbs are flicking and rubbing against objects.
