Tibbyyyyyyy

4.5 months,?? what i had to start moving my babies at 8 weeks due to aggresion......
"You're the fire 24" Yea!! at 8 weeks they start showing that trait, but I keep them untill they are tatty & torn to make absolutely sure.

They are 2 months old and the bloated belly is due to feeding. If you look at my thread further down "copper spawn" you see updated pics on the 2nd page which show them all with bloated bellys. Thats not really an accurate way of sexing at this age!!

Netty...Netty..... I've forgotten all the previous threads o' mine in this forum about Bettas, but they are multiple, and I've had brood after brood...... I start sexing (removing the males) after about 4.5 months when the only obvious signs of sex are when the males start to be aggressive toward their rivals. You have a Martha here by facial expression only. Please let me know in a month's time if I was wrong, but I doubt it.

Hi
These young bettas have had to be seperated at 9 weeks due to aggression and fighting. In fact, we only just seperated them in time as one sustained quite nipped fins. There are 4 identical to this one in jars........all have built bubble nests!!! The one in question also flares at his reflection and at passing fry outside his trap. I will tell you now that you are wrong, so there's no need for Netty to do so in a months time.

Could i also point out, that I, find your posts patronising. I suggest that if you have some knowledge to share you do so, without the patronising under tones.

What?

Why on earth would you wait until the babies are tattered and torn before separating them??????????

wait for them to get beaten.. sure is a good way to bring them up.

(we are talking to each other patronisingly, right?)
(is patronisingly even a word?)

Ok!!... So I've been caught out..... Yes Netty.... I also believe that all the signs are there that you have a male here, but I do stir at times, but I think it's the "torn & tatty" that gave me away this time, but at least we kept the topic bumpin up & down for a while...

caught out? as a bad fishkeeper or as a terrible joker? :S

Well maybe next time you could start your own thread to stir things up and not use mine

This is the damage caused at 8weeks old. Hardly think this little guy would have survived until 4 months.....do you????
