Oh I love threadfins  - so, so cute :p Well done for getting those pics too. What do you keep the threadfins with?

Thanks :)
Threadfins are very very peaceful and dont grow very big,so i have them with Harliquen Rasboara,Neon tetras,Glow Light tetras,"Albino"Aeneus Corys,Rams and Keyholes  they usualy school with the Harliquens,
i knwo theyre schooling fish but heres my story;
I was looking for a small cheap rainbow fish that could go into my community tank, and i walked into my lfs one day i say these two beauties flaring at eachother at the back on the neons tank,i asked the employee there "how did youmanage to get those in" he said that someone took them in that morning and traded them for something else, so i got them. He them asked if i wanted to put more on order so i did,4 more are coming next week :)
sorry for the story :*)

I love them!!
I have never heard of them or seen them until now. I must keep an eye out for these!
Gorgeous fish you got there, DD :D

You Have threadfins.

Just wait till they Mature a bit and the Fins start to Grow longer and Longer. Then That is amazing to watch them Display to the MAX Length.

I am Waiting for Some Adults to come in to my LFS, The Other Has Juvie Yellows Only.

I prefer the Red + Black + Green + Blue Finned Variety.

Looks like you got: Yellow, Red and Black

Thanks :)

sounds great Gill, post pics if ya get some

Dude, nice!

Apparently i could go and catch some from some place near here, but dont have time. I know there are plenty of gudgeons in my parts anywyas. Wouldnt they be reasonably close to you DD? (Threadfins)

Theyre not found in the western parts unfortunatly
thats why i got them so quickly, i would go get some wild ones if i were you, alot more colourful
and just waite until they flare up for you,its awsome

Thanks LittleFishie

Hey,

1 Question How did you get such great pix of them, I can never Photograph Mine as they are So Flighty and just Dart Around Constantly.

Oh and How are you Finding them with Harlequins, You should watch them as from Experience Harlequins find it hard to resist nipping Threadfins.

Hi

i just waited for the right moment and them kept pressing that button :D

theres some moments when they stay still for justa second to take a rest before carrying on, and so in those moments, take a photo alot of patience is all it takes

so far the Threadfins are in good condition and the harliquens dont touch them, they happily school along together all day untill lights off, if and when i start noticing some nipping going on i will seperate them

thanks for the tip

DD
