Hi all,

Here's a pic of my 360 litre, 5 foot tank

What do people think? I was thinking about adding some plants however when I have done so before my large clown loach have destroyed them.

Any ideas on improvements I could make. Apologies for the poor photo, couldn't get all the tank in & keep within the max file size.

Thanks

Mark

Oh my god, that Clown looks MASSIVE in comparison to the rest ha ha :p

I know clown loaches are terrors in a planted aquarium, however, what about if you attached java fern and Anubias to the wood you have in there? Would they still bother it or is it just substrate planted plants they like to uproot?

You can attach with some fishing line or cotton.

Why is the clown this colour? Is it from the picture?

I've got clown loaches and they don't eat the plants anymore. They did so initially for 2-3 months after I bought them.
However, plants like anubias, java fern, also some of the bulb plants like crinum calamistratum are not liked at all by fish.
Try feeding veggies like cucumber and melon which clown loaches quite like. They do need vegetable matter in their diet and they'll get it from the plants if nothing else is entering the tank. He also needs friends as he maybe doing that out of boredom. Clown loaches are one of the most social fish and don't do well alone, can even become aggressive.

Very nice, just needs a bit of greenery and a background...try hanging a black bin liner on the back of the tank for a quick fix !

I think rockwork looks better if you stick to just one type.

I have 27 Clown Loaches in my tank, mine don't touch the plants are very careful how they travel around the tank as well, often reversing rather than plough through a plant
