Went to a fish shop today, cant remember the name but they had their bettas in pots half the size of the tanks they keep them in at p@h, was disgusting tbh i asked the people there how oftern they change the water and they said its a 'constant trickle' system they have, but it was turned off at that moment, weather or not i believe that idk i dont see how a trickle system would have worked considering they where literally pots mounted on the wall, with no obvious sign of them being able to trickle, and they had lids on so?

Literally enough room to turn around. Just annoying cos the other place we go too has their bettas in tanks with other fish (obviously not with each other) and i dont see whats so hard about just doing that. Annoying.

rant over

I hate people neglecting animals to that extent just to make that extra profit. I'd hate to know how many fish sold in pet stores actually die behind the scenes.

I was posting just to say do Pets at Home sell Betta Splendens??
I am hopefully getting one tomorrow should they have a male!

alot

and yeh they do, although i wouldn't personally get one from there, well idk your local pets at home may have a good supplier but ones round here generally have pretty poor bettas.

Not all Pets at home are bad for storing betta. I have two close by and both of them store them differently.

I think becasue bettas will survive in a small container then the shops have no "need" to change really. Such a shame :(

the main one i go to has a set up for bettas, not amazing but better than this place. I think another p@h close to me doesnt have this so they go in tanks.

Thing aswell they had a good 20-25 bettas, keeping in mind how long it will take to sell them + the ones nobody wants to buy some of them could stand to be in there for a fair while :grr:
