This Might Sound Stupid But..

I have purchased a 60L tank, it is a 'Tetra' tank.

Simple question;

Does that mean I can just keep tetra's in there? or are they just named that?

you can keep any fish suitable for 60l with those dimensions

Tetra is the company, you will see it on alot of things

In my 60 L tank, i've had guppies, platy's, dwarf gourami's, apistogrammas, neon tetras, bronze cory's, Cherry Barbs (although not necessarily at the same time). Basically i'd approximate it to around 16Gal initially which means you can keep 16 inches worth of fish, so perhaps 6 average tetras, a couple of larger fish, the apisto for example or platy's and a few bottom dwellers. With proper maintenance you can keep more but you have to keep an eye on the tank that you don't overstock, and be aware that with smaller tanks, if something goes wrong it goes wrong quicker than in a larger tank.

well at the moment i am upgrading it, i have 3 pitbull plecos, 4 corys and 1 german blue ram. i had alot of fish die for some reason so thats why its a bit empty and the plants arnt in the proper places

at one time i had zebra danios, black phantom tetras, neon tetas. so there is quite alot that can go in it. however i would stick to the 1" of fish per gallon guideline because it filters arnt that good.

im guessing its the same as yours, its a 60l tetra

heres some pics of how the tank has changed since i got it at christmas

it has never been how i wanted it because i had loads of problems because the fish kept dying, something nasty got in there. so all those pics arent showing its full potential at all
