This is the 3rd time they spawned and the mother will not let the father near the nest. They both cared for the eggs for one DAY then after the 24 hours they had a huge fight. It was really bad I thought one would die for sure.

But the mother won and the wounds are healed up. The father is ok just banned to the other side of the tank.

Will this drama ever end??? Will they ever care for the fry together? I'm thinking no. I wanted a pair because I thought it would be nice to watch them care for the nest and be a little family. Well I got freaks Horny fish that hate each other.

They are 3.5 inches. in a planted 55 Gal tank with 8 red eye tetras and 2 BN plecos . The mother is VERY aggressive to everything My Bn has some ripped fins from her.

Should I break up this pair and give one away. Or cross my fingers and hope they work together to raise the fry next time. What would you do? This tank is stressful to watch just too much drama.

My other tank with a keyhole and 2 bolivian rams and a few others is so much fun to watch.

This is the female flirting with the male before they spawned.

You could try replacing the female, she sounds like an angry one.

Yeah she is a mean one when she wants to be. Thing is I can not just go to the store and find a female. No one around here has blue acaras. I had to order them online. SO I am thinking of just finding her a new home and doing a mixed cichlid tank.
