i posted a few weeks back about my zebra danio swelling after food, now ive changed food but the problem is even worse now! i think it may be down to greed?? this particular fish is first on the scene when food appears and eats nearly all by the time the other fish arive, leaving very little for them. if i put more food in for the others, this zebra will continue to eat it until its on the verge of bursting. as you can hopefully see from the video its stomach swells to a considerable size, to the point where you can see whats its eaten through the stretched 'skin' round its bum!!! (if you look around 50secs into the vid you should be able to see this quite well). by the morning the fish will be back to normal size ready to start again. i dare not feed the fish any more food incase this fish does pop, but wont the other fish starve??

not sure if that vid is working? what have i done wrong? direct link http://s134.photobucket.com/albums/q99/spi...nt=100_0724.flv

Neither link is working, but my suggestions are to spread the food out over the surface of the tank and to attract the other fish to the surface before you add the food. Tap on top of the hood or something to bring all the fish to the surface then add the food. You could also try sinking waffers and pellets to get the food to the bottom, since dainos are mainly surface fish.

another link fingers crossed <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i134.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid134.photobucket.com/albums/q99/spishkey/100_0724.flv">

i have tried all of those, if i spread it along the top he just zooms along and hoovers up the flakes. if i put in sinking food, he goes down to the bottom for it. i even put in a frozen cube of brine shrimp and he fought off the rest of the fish for it :(

ok the second link in the opening post should work now, its working for me...?

I got it to work and he is definetly very swollen. I would cut back on the food. He may continue to eat most of it, but thats fine. The other fish will eventually get hungry and will learn to be quicker at feeding time. In some of my tanks feeding time is very laid back, in others the fish go mad in their attempt to eat as much of the food as they can before the others.
