This Bottle Of Ammonia

is this bottle of ammonia 100% ammonia? i can see anything on it like ingredients so i guess it is. has anyone ever used it that can tell me.

if so for my 240l i only need to add 1.5ml to get 5ppm

Ammonia is poisonous, so I now it is not 100%.

You are probably looking at 9.5% ammonia.

I would just test it out in like a 5 gallon bucket.

Use the calculator, add the appropriate amount of 9.5% ammonia, test the water and see if it at 5ppm.

Yes, a 10l bucket will do just fine.

Just make sure you input the correct calculations into the calculator.

ok added 1.5ml to 10l should give me between 4-5ppm and its gone to 8ppm within a minute

im guessing its srtonger then 9.5%

what do i do now, add a bit less?

its gone pretty much black in 1 minute

Yup, I would add .75, which is half of 1.5ml, and see were that puts you.

When you figure out what amount raises it to 4-5 ppm, then I will be able to figure out what percent diluted your ammonia solution is.

1.5ml? if its 9.5% solution you would only need 0.5ml to achieve 5ppm in 10 litres

I was just going to say, 1.5 ml is too much for a 10l bucket...lol.

rite i added a really small amount. i couldnt measure it with my pipette it looked like 0.25 ish

the reading looks like 3ppm

i think the easist thing to do will be tomorrow when i fill the tank with water to the full 240l then gradually add some and meaure it at each stage. then record how much i have put in and when i get 5ppm look at how much i have put in then use that each time. then somehow work out the % of ammonia in the bottle
