Hi im thinking of switching from mbuna cichlids to a pair/few angels in my 4'x15"x18" tank. I dont know to much about them really can anybody give me a little help.
How many is best to have in a tank that size?
Do they have any special requirements?
I was thinking a couple of big bits of bogwood and some tall plants towards the back with lowones at the front is this ok?
What is the best PH for them?
Do they have any special requirements?
Any fish they go very well with?
Do they go well with plecs because i love plecs?
How much can i expect to pay in £ for angels like this http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...cial_s%26sa%3DN

Sorry for all the questions id rather get it right first time im at a crisis now as i dont like my tank very much really in an ideal world i would find sombody that would take all my fish and rock off my hands for a decent amount or swap me some of the things i would need for these new fish.

If you're are finding Mbuna boring, i wouldn't go for Angels Ginge, they are far less active.

Its not so much the fish as much as the tank i am starting to dislike the plain rocks and i am going towards the bogwood and plants look.

P.S Ferris hows your 125G coming along id love to see some pics iv only ever seen your 55G briefly. And ive just noticed have you switched you mbuna into your 65G if so it would be nice to see that too.

OK cool, What about Rainbow fish, they look stunning in a planted tank!

If you like that, you'd love my 125 Ginge, i'll try and get some pics posted. I bought a new 65 gal, originally for my Green Terror but decided to put him in the 55 and moved the Mbuna to the new one.

Thanks all i need now is to get back on track of the threa and get some info. Have you got a nice camera?
P.S do you know what bulbs you have on your Fluval Duo Deep 1200.

1 triton marine white bulb and 1 sun-glo.

Back to the thread, plants and bogwood are perfect for Angels and a Ph of 7 or slightly less is ideal. Avoid any fin-nipper tank mates. They look great with cardinal tetra's but some of the larger varieties may see them as a snack when full grown.
