Can male bettas be put into a tank of there own which has no gravel or plants os well... anything ?
That way there is nothing he can damage his fins on.

Yeah, but he'll get awful bored! Bettas like stimulation, too. Soft plants or caves to rest on/hide in. If you put him in a bare tank then you could try some outside stimulation (a fish next to him or mirror to flare at).

Ok, i will also put in some rocks and a flower potOk, i will also put in some rocks and a flower pot

That's fine. All of my adult bettas have fully decorated tanks, with substrate (either gravel or sand), plants (mostly live plants), and a decoration or two to rest on. Of course my juvies and babies have completely bare tanks, but I let them see each other a few times a day and that seems to keep them stimulated. It won't kill a betta to have a completely bare tank..but they have more fun with some sort of decor :)

Dmarie is right, they do like to have some form of decor in the tank. I've got planted bogwood and rock with holes in it in my boys tank. Just make sure that there are no sharp edges for him to catch his fins on. :good:
