Want to get a bigger tank next year just haven't decided what size yet (actually leaning towards a 75-150 gallon). I already have a few species picked out that I've researched on and look like they can all live in the same water conditions.

Here is what I'm looking at so far:

9 platies (3 sunset red, 3 panda, and either 3 bumble, blue or white mickey Mouse)
5 Marbled Hatchetfish
1 pleco
3 Honey (original choice), Blue, or Flame Dwarf Gourami
6 Peppered Corydora Catfish.

All of these so far can deal with temps from either 64-84, PH 5-8, and Hardness 1-25. They pretty much meet in the middle. The thing is will the Cherry Barbs get along with everything else that I already have chosen? According to a chart I'm looking at it says to use caution with platies and the hatchets and everything else should get along fine. From the book I have it says they should be peaceful. I'm looking at adding at least 4-6 of the Cherry Barbs so the 75 gallon may not work unless I omit something out which will probably be either the Hatchetfish or the corydoras. I really like the Corydoras though because they will add a totally different aspect to the tank.

Hi Pumkinnose,
Cherry barbs are really active fish to watch. I have half a dozen (1 x m, 5 x female) in with 2 keyhole cichlids & 2 A. Metae, all much larger than the barbs, no problems at all. They also share the tank with an albino bristlenose & 3 Brochis Splendins & apart from the occasional, half hearted chase by the male barb against the cats, I have no issues there either - so cories should be fine :)
