Didn't know that tear-scar that those kinda lights. Usually you'll see 10,000K bulbs being used for SW, but I know that the kelvin rating of Hagen's Aqua-Glo and Power-Glo are both 18000K... Their FloraGlo which is supposed to be for growing plants, only has a kelvin rating of 2800K though...
Yea, I'd think that the 2700K compact flourescents are better for plants, because I read that 10,000K bulbs will encourage algae growth, or something like that. Better PM tear-scar for more info, I'm sure he'd be more knowledgable about this subject. Just look at his plants, and you can see what I mean.
