Hi there :)

I'm minly into the salty side of things, but have been thinking of buying a small betta tank.
Namely this tank; http://www.cityaquaticscardiff.co.uk/store/betta-nano-cube-from-j-k-1169.html?zenid=a3c833456b803471e39012c93a8a1d1a

Would it be suitable for a single male betta, a couple shrimp and some live plants?
I love betta fish, but don't have much room for another tank as my Reef tank takes up most of the space.

Yeah I'm in agreement with sausagewinkle... any smaller than 3 gallons is too small. I've seen those cube thingies. They look kind of nifty and modern but they are not practical for any fish, let alone a betta. It's worth it getting a larger tank- your betta will be soo much happier and healthier!

If properly maintained, nicely planted and water quality kept on top of that tank would be fine for a single betta and even a few shrimp. A larger tank id recommend to a beginner but as someone who keeps marine nanos I think you'd have more than enough experience to understand the importance of maintaining good chemistry in the tank. That is the real problem( if you could call it a problem...more like a challenge if you don't know what yoyre doing) with small tanks.
I keep bettas in tanks ranging from 1.5 gal to 10+. Neither betta is healthier than the other and all are just as active.
cheers
