Think My Tank Has Ich?

I added the "day 3" dose of Pimafix this morning, benjoey, the single spots are still there but I think they are reduced in size and white intensity. It a 7-day treatment and then if the spots go, I will be keeping them in QT for another 7 days at the temperature of the main tank (26C) to verify they are over the infection.

I believe the life cycle of Ich is ~14 days. However, as the temperature of the water is increased towards 86F, the speed of the cycle is increased and apparently this extreme temperature can kill the parasite alonw without medication.

Some growths, like columnaris, need a lowering of the water temperature and medication to treat.

Having ran the QT at 31C during the 6-day Protozin dosing, I have now reduced to room temperature (24C) and will keep it at that for the next 5 days...

I have decided to stop the treatment and lower the temp of my tank back to its original, as there has been no change in the spots during the course of treatment. If there is any change in the next couple of weeks then I will have to think about treatment again, but I dont think this is ich.
