I got what seemed to be a docile pair of rams one gold and one blue(well they stayed together unlike the rest). I thought the blue was female and the gold was the male, but now after three weeks of settling in their colours have really come alive (VERY beautiful fish). The larger blue would chase the smaller gold around for a bit and both have nipped at each other once that i seen, but no damage to fins or body are present. Soo now im thinking ive got two males, could some one please help???
Thanks neil.

THIS WAS THE BLUE WHEN I FIRST GOT IT.

Indeed both male, but the gold looks more like a bolivian ram to me

The gold is a gold as it has a red eye. No bolivians have red eyes.

But yes they do both look like developing males.

They get on great, always swimming together only every once and a wile the blue gives chase but no actual fighting. I take it i'll have to rehome the gold if im to pair up the blue ram.

neil.
