Think i might have a problem...
At moment have a 180 gallon and 36 gallon tropical communitys
And what do i go do....buy a 160gal with a 120gallon sump.
Only reason i got was bought full setup stand, 6' T5HO 232watt light, tank, sump
for $300. Checked retail new price and worked out too 2500-3000.

Now too clean up tank and sump and stock
Thinking cichlids. But fish are wifes decision.

Ssoon as tank in basement i started looking for next tank.....Wife says i got a problem
but she never said no yet.

Yeah it's called YOUR A FREAKING FISHAHOLIC. It's ok everyone in this hobby goes through it. Just don't go bankrupt. As long as your not spending to much money for things and your not messing up your love life then your good. Also make sure your able to take care of all the tanks.

ya i buy cheap when i see available. maintaince not a problem as i dedicate sunday fully to do water changes and plant thinning. currently takes about 3 hrs to complete all so 3rd tank will add another hour or so. have multiple pythons kits so drain tanks all same time.

I'm really envious of you right now!
That's like my dream sized tank right there, along with my dream fish....a Black Ghost Knife fish.

This is known as MTS (multiple tank syndrome, not malaysian trumpet snails). It strikes us all after a while.

I currently have 3 tanks running, with 1 quarantine and 1 hospital standing by, with plans for at least 2 more big tanks. My OH actually suggested a tank for a room the other day. Dropping into the LFS is allowed as I tend to not buy tanks from them, having ended up getting into relatively custom sizing due to the foibles of the available alcoves in an 18th century cottage.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step toward recovery.

I can't imagine tanks that size in our house, lol, yet I'm totally jealous! :)

My hubby wouldn't admit it, but he's just as "bad". He loves going to the LFS with me and points at this and at that! It's my hobby really, since I do all the care, but he's the one who gets the googly eyes at the LFS! :)

Luckily i don't have that problem because i'm not old enough to have a spouse

.  But i do have that problem with my parents.  They are always looking upon my hobby as useless and as though i spending money needlessly

I would love to have those tanks though

at the moment all i have is a 10 gal.

dude i have the same problem with my parents. i can only have one tank at a time and right now i only have a 55 gallon. i wanted to go bigger but they said no. so now im going to build a shed out in the yard to house any future tanks because my parents dont appreciate the amount of work i put into the tank.

That's a proper diagnosis, Doctor.  What's the cure?  Or is it terminal, and we can only hope to treat the symptoms?

Sometimes time heals these sorts of wounds and develops scar tissue after tragic events have happened or simply a long enough time. Simply put: you get tired of the hobby.

Sometimes it can be terminal though if you have nothing to fill the gap in your life.
