Things Your Fish Do!

funny thing in my tank is at feeding time my pleco will see off all the other fish in order to protect his pelet and as mosy of the other fish are bigger then him he dont do to badly lol

Technically not my own fish, but I was at my lfs, catching some metallic butterfly koi for some customers and they kept hopping out of my net before I could put them in the bag. I managed to catch a particularly nice looking one and boldly announced "This one isn't jumping anywhere", mere seconds before the little bugger came rocketing out of the net so high that he made a huge splash when he came down and got me all wet.

*sigh*

My tetras are weird. Everytime I walk into the room and turn on the light, they scatter like cockroaches. It's like, oh no, light! Scatter!!!

My danios are insane. They follow me along the front glass of the tank whenever I'm nearby.

Whenever I put my hands in they're always bashing into my arm and when I do my water tests and put the very narrow glass tube in, a couple of the zebras have a habit of swimming right into the tube. It's like their party trick. I'm quite tempted to put the stopper on but that would be just too cruel!

Well may not be entirely the fishes fault but it is pretty funny.

My english springer spaniel(dog) loves to sit and watch the fish swimming in the tank, she will honestly sit there for hours, this isnt that strange, what happens next is. My alpha female Ps. Saulosi comes out of her cave and flares at the dog, approaches right up to the edge of the tank and flares again. Anyway my dog takes this as a threatening jesture and so she lunges and smacks her head on the tank. The female retreats a bit, and does the same thing again: eventually realising that the dog is no threat she now regularly teases the dog getting it to smack its head against the tank. It is absolutely hillarious: Fish are smarter than dogs. Ironically my male is a big sook and is scared of the dog.
