ok, so a friend of mine has thick slime that appears on his bogwood,
he originally brought 3 large pieces and added them to his tank whilst it cycled, after about a week the light brown area on the wood (mopani wood) was covered with slime but the dark areas on the wood were totally clear, the slime was nowhere else in the tank, he initially thought that he had just brought some dodgy wood, so he tried other pieces but it is the same with ever type of wood that he adds, the original pieces are now in one of the display tanks in store and have been for a few days now, with no signs of slime
tank is now newly cycled with 6 silver tipped tetra, stats are ph 7.6 ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5, at present the only other things in the tank is gravel, and a few live plants
any ideas?
