Hi all,

My chocolate gourami's have started a war with each other.

Have read that some male gourami's don't like being kept together, and will fight each other.

Do you think i will have to separate my two?

I didn't know they were both lads until I got them home and the grew a bit, still not sure as they are still quite small...
Only guessing that they are male as they constantly chase and try to nip each other.

This is a far cry from my first ever post thinking they were going to die! :-(

It's lovely to see them both out and swimming, I think adding the bog wood to the tank made a big difference. :good:

Any words of wisdom?

Thanks

Jen

sensibly you should separate them, especially if as you say they are harming each other.

Keepimg two males together is not a good idea, the male will bully the female around as well. Try adding some plants and some new ornaments and decor. Changing this stuff can limit the aggression, try this until you know what sex they are, if it is 2 males then they need to be split up.

Hi guys, thanks for the reply.

I have added some new plants and changed the aquascape a bit, this has helped for now.

Will keep an eye on them over the next few days.

Any definate way to sex them or are they too small?

Jen

Males are the pretty ones, females look silverly and generally less attractive.
