I've got these two in the spawning tank right now! I originally put in this guy's brother, who I think is prettier, but he didn't seem very interested in the female even when I let her out in the tank with him. No bubbles, barely any flaring... mostly just chilling in the java moss. The slightly less pretty brother had already built a nice nest in his tank, so I switched them out and he seems to be doing better. He's going back and forth between showing off to his girl and blowing a bubble or two under the styrofoam. Hopefully by morning he will have a nice nest going. The female has been fat, barred up, and flirting back no matter who was in the tank with her, so I think she's ready to go!

I'm so excited!

AAAAAUUUGGGHH, no nest... just 20 random bubbles lining the styrofoam cup. Maybe I'll let the female out for a while and see if that inspires him.

Give him a couple days before releasing the female. I have found it does more harm than good. Usually if you give a nest-reluctant male an extra day or two, he will usually build a nice full one. Even if it is small. And if not... Maybe you are lacking humidity in the air above the water? This usually causes any bubbles blown to pop.
