my gold snail will not make eggs it just sits there i thought they made eggs by themselves is this true? i want some snails for some other tanks i have

Apple and mystery snails (like you have) aren't as prolific as other sorts of snails I don't think... none of my apple snails have ever produced young. Not all snail species can self-fertilize, and the likelihood of it happening in apple or mystery snails is relatively low.
EDIT: Oh, and apple snails are dioecious, meaning they do have separate sexes and are not hermaphroditic... so it takes two to tango
