my super red halfmoon male bred with my super delta red female yesterday there plenty of eggs and I was wondering how long does it take for them to hatch again?

my mums friend came round today and kept on banging on the glass and starring at him and he was so scared he destroyed the nest and ate the eggs i really hate my mums friends

AWw that sucks big time. I keep mine at the most remote place I could lay my hands on withoout my mom screaming at me. I use a digital camera and view it through there instead of looking directly at the pair.

Take the male out, and check out the tank tomorrow. He may not have eaten all the eggs. If you take him out, you may still get a few fry.

but if he takes out the eggs wont the fry drwn when they falll through the nest and have no one to pick them up?

If the nest is gone, and the male is just eating the eggs, it is best to just remove him. He is most likely very stressed. Put him in his own tank, with some fresh water, and some salt/stress coat. Maybe even a good feeding in a few hrs.

At this point you may think all the eggs are gone, and there will be no fry. By taking the male out, any eggs that may still be there, may hatch.

I had a male last week, no bubble nest, just kept eggs floating. When 1 would fall, he would bring it back to the top. Looked very stressfull. about 28-30 hrs in, my cats must have jumped from the top of the tank. THe shaking caused ALL of the eggs to fall to the bottom. The male seemed to loose interest.
I was afraid he would start eating the eggs. Since it didn't look like it was doing any good to leave him, I took him out.

Now almost a week later I see at least 50 fry. Very hard to count. Very tiny, good hiders, and quick swimmers.

Right now you are expecting 0 fry. Even if you get a couple it isn't a total loss.

If by some miracle you have frys you COULD try to artificially hatch them but it will be time consuming or you could always recondition and hopefully they'll spawn again.

I can see 2 eggs at the bottom of the tank and the male has lost intrest should I remove the male and leave the eggs at the bottom of the tank and pray

Maybe he will care for those if you dont disturb him. And by not disturbing him i mean dont go back into the room hes in.

Was it hard to breed the two parents. You know the thing that sucks is that that happen to me except no one came into my room to tap on the glass. But the father ate the eggs and now im trying to re-breed them after the first time it was so easy now I cant do it.
